Random Conversations I heard This Week

Over the past week, I have heard some funny conversations and sense I'm about all things funny and hilarious thought I'd share a few. My phone rings, it's my cousin, I say Hello, then I hear " I love you man, thank you babe!" then I hear my cousin say " I love you man...". My cousin, showing God's love, had just bought a homeless man dinner. My 10 yr. old daughter and I in my hubby's compact car, not my SUV on the way to the store, we pull into the parking lot of the store my daughter says " momma...that car looks an awful lot like daddy's car" I say "ELAINE!!!! WE ARE... IN DADDDY'S CAR!!!" I have no words, just suffice it to say I'm scared!!! My 5 yr. old crying, running down the stairs, I say what happened?! what's wrong?! my 5 yr. old says "ETHAN GAVE ME A TEXAS WEDGIE!!!" What is a Texas wedgie???!!! I have no Idea!! He then runs over and hits his brother and says "NOW PULL IT OUT YOU BIG BA...

In God We Trust

Rose was a young Puerto Rican woman who grew up in a very faith filled home. Even though they were poor, her mother taught her at an early age to trust God above everything. By the time she was old enough to go to college, Rose found a way to pursue her education - again something that she credited to her strong faith - and became the first member of her large family to graduate from college. She then married and was hired by a large investment firm in New York. Even though her job kept her busy, she found time to attend Church. When her friends threw parties, Rose made up goodie bags for them that included candy and make-up, but also a prayer book. When a member of her family couldn’t pay their bills, Rose secretly paid them. When someone in the family got into trouble she bailed them out of jail. One night Rose had a strange dream. In the dream Jesus appeared to her, dressed in a white robe, standing on a cloud of smoke. He was beckoning her to come to him, telling her not to worry, ...

Reflection

Wow!, what a year it's been. Last year I turned 40, I am still in shock! although it's now even more shocking that I am about to turn 41! holy toledo, sweet, mother of pearl...! I am totally freaked out! about this new stage, I feel like a 25 year old in a 40 year old body whose subjects(especially my teenager) just don't get it!!. I also began my spiritual journey (as I like to call it) last year, I don't know if I have been so extremely busy with life or just lazy. But... I have lost that personal relationship with God that I feel sure, I once had. My question now is, did I have my own relationship with God? or was is my parents relationship with God?. I'm a PK, so that in and of itself is another whole issue that I am trying to work through. I feel confident in this new year, that I will have that personal relationship with God that I am so desperately seeking. Exercising, it feels great,I worked out plenty, but not enough for me, so this year is my year to kick ...

Searching for my cause

Have you ever doubted your purpose in life? Have you ever thought, “What am I supposed to be doing?” Or why am I here? Why don’t I have a mission in life? I have, with increasing intensity.I’ve been wrestling with the question, “What’s next God?” I started asking God, “What do you want me to do? What would you have me do for you? What did you put me on this earth for? What is my cause?” I wanted him to tell me to start a ministry or be a spiritual warrior in faraway lands on a faraway adventure. I wanted him to give me a big cause so that I could do big things for him in big ways. In the midst of working through the weight and burden of feeling like I didn’t have a cause, I felt like God reminded me that he doesn’t think like I do. Maybe, when he hears me crying out, when he hears me asking him to transform me into a spiritual warrior, he wants to cry back: "You want to be a warrior? Be a warrior of need and surrender. Make fighting for a relationship with me your greatest cause a...

What I know for sure...

I know there is a God. I know there is a heaven. I know to never take life for granted, (but I often get busy and do). I know that it's those small daily happenings(in my own world) that make life so spectacular. I know that no matter how bad things get, there are always people in this world who care. I know that whenever he says my name "Cami" it's still feels like the very first time he said it. I know that it's an honor and a privilege to be Ethan, Elaine and Evan's Mommy, I know that all to soon my children will be all grown up with lives of their own (so, I cherish every moment, that I get to spend with them). I know that the older I get the more I appreciate my parents. I know that if I worry I should pray and I know that if I pray I shouldn't worry. I know that God is still in control. I know for sure, that it rains on the just and the unjust alike. I know exercising feels great and clears your head. I know you don't need words to say "I lo...
